The November 2026 issue of Sauls-Bridges Post 13 News is now available online, and this month’s edition arrives at one of the most meaningful times of the year for the American Legion family.

As always, you can enjoy the newsletter your way:

This month’s issue is filled with Post news, history, upcoming events, and opportunities to connect with fellow veterans and the community.

The cover story, “The Term ‘President,’” looks back at the early days of the United States and how the new nation settled on the title used for its chief executive. From Article II of the Constitution to George Washington and the debates of the First Congress, it is an interesting look at a familiar word with an American history all its own.

November also means Veterans Day, and Commander Dennis Hall highlights one of Post 13’s most important annual traditions: the Veterans Day Breakfast on Wednesday, November 11. Post 13 and Leon County Government will once again work together to serve breakfast to more than 400 people, followed by participation in the Veterans Day parade. Members interested in helping decorate or ride on the Post float are encouraged to get involved.

There is plenty more inside.

The November newsletter looks back at Post 13’s recognition of the young men who participated in Florida Boys State, an American Legion program that gives students hands-on experience with representative government and civic leadership.

Readers can also learn about efforts to establish an American Legion Riders Chapter 13 at Sauls-Bridges Post 13. The next planning meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 21 at 9:30 a.m., and interested members of the American Legion Family are invited to learn more and help build the chapter.

The issue also includes an update on the 2027 cost-of-living adjustment, news from the Auxiliary, Post activities, live music and community events, and a full November calendar.

And the month does not end with Veterans Day. Post 13 will also host a community Thanksgiving lunch on November 26, followed by holiday decorating at the Post on November 29 as we begin looking ahead to December.

There is a lot happening at Sauls-Bridges Post 13 this November.
