Meet The Post Leadership Team

The Commander serves as the chief executive officer of the Post, leading all operations, presiding over meetings, and ensuring that the mission and principles of The American Legion are upheld. The Commander is responsible for guiding the Post’s programs, supporting members, and representing the Post within the community.

The Adjutant acts as the Post’s chief administrative officer, maintaining records, managing correspondence, and ensuring effective communication among members and with higher Legion organizations. The Adjutant supports the Commander and oversees the day-to-day administrative functions of the Post.

The First Vice Commander is primarily responsible for membership growth and retention, serving as chair of the membership committee. This officer also assists the Commander and assumes their duties in their absence.

The Second Vice Commander focuses on the business and programmatic aspects of the Post, such as planning activities and supporting community engagement. This officer steps in for the First Vice Commander when needed and assists with Post operations.

The Third Vice Commander often oversees fundraising, social activities, and the management of Post facilities. This officer assumes the duties of the Second Vice Commander when necessary and supports other Post initiatives as assigned.

The Finance Officer manages all financial matters for the Post, including receiving and disbursing funds, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the fiscal integrity of the organization. This officer typically chairs the finance committee and works closely with the Adjutant on financial matters

The Chaplain provides spiritual support and guidance to Post members, leads invocations at meetings and ceremonies, and offers comfort during times of loss or distress. The Chaplain fosters an atmosphere of care and compassion within the Post.

The Sergeant-At-Arms maintains order during meetings, ensures proper protocol and flag etiquette, and is responsible for the setup and security of Post events. This officer also welcomes guests and new members.

The Historian preserves the legacy of the Post by documenting its activities, maintaining archives, and sharing the Post’s story with members and the community. This officer ensures that the achievements and traditions of the Post are recorded for future generations.
